[00:00] In this example, we're going to learn how to connect to a SLC using Data Highway Plus from a ControlLogix Gateway. So, starting from Ignition, we're going to go into the ControlLogix PLC through the ENBT Module. We're then going to come out the DHRIO Module, either on Channel A or Channel B and then we are going to go down and connect to one of our SLC's. So the end goal here is to connect to a SLC but we're going to specify the IP address of the ControlLogix PLC and then we're going to specify the route to go from the ControlLogix down to the SLC. We call that route the Connection Path. If you look down here at the bottom of the diagram, there's a couple of different connection paths. One for each SLC, SLC A, SLC B, and SLC C. Let's take a look at SLC A and see how that connection path is constructed. From Ignition, we are going to go into the ENBT Module of the ControlLogix PLC. From there, we are going to go into the backplane of the ControlLogix which has a value of one. You can see the first number of the connection path is also a one. We then want to go out the DHRIO Module in slot 3. So the next number in my connection path is going to be a three. We then need to specify either Channel A or Channel B for Data Highway Plus. Channel A is equal to a value of two and Channel B is three. So for SLC A, we are going now to Channel A, so the value is two. Lastly, we then need to specify the Data Highway Plus Station Number, the number is an octal and not a decimal number. That is one of the biggest mistakes people make is putting that number in decimal format. So for SLC A, the Station Number is 21, so we use 21 as our final value. This is all we would need in the Connection Path to connect to a SLC PLC through DH+. Let's go ahead and take a look at a real life example using our Ignition gateway. We first want to navigate to the devices page under the configuration section of the gateway webpage. We then want to click the Create New Device link. We then need to select the driver of the device that we're going to be connecting to. So as our end product PLC is a SLC, I'm going to choose the Allen Bradley SLC driver then scroll down and hit the next button. We then need to specify a name for a device. I'm going to call mine SLC DH+ and then the host name is going to be the IP address of the first device that we're going through. In this case, the ControlLogix. Mine has an IP address of 10.20.4.62 and lastly we need to specify our connection path. First we go to the backplane of the ControlLogix which has a value of one. Then the DHRIO module in this ControlLogix is in slot six. So our next number is going to be a six. I am then going through Channel A for DH+ and Channel A has a value of two, so my next number there is two. And finally, my station number has an octal, it's just a one. So my last number is just going to be a one. I then can click the Create New Device button. You can see that my device is now connected and it's connected using the DHRIO protocol. Once it's given enough time to browse the device, I can then scroll down and go to my Quick Client under OPC Connections, expand the OPC-UA server folder, find my device, and we'll be able to see all of my tags here in the device.
