[00:00] Let's take a look at an example of connecting to a Siemens S7 device. We'll start off in the gateway, in the configure section. Going to scroll down just to show you under the familiar OPC-UA server and devices page here. We'll scroll back to the top, and click on the Create new Device link. And we'll scroll down this long list of drivers we have, until we get to the Siemens section. You can see we have four drivers here. And of course, each one pertains to a specific series of device. So, 1200, 1500, 300, and 400. Now, for this video, I am going to be connecting to a 1200 series device, but the following steps would be the same regardless of which one of these drivers you use. Before we move on I do want to point out for the 1200 and the 1500 series, there are some device site configurations and considerations that need to be made when using our drivers. So for example, you may only access global data blocks. For a list of all the considerations and configurations, please see the Siemens section of the ignition user manual. So, we'll continue here, I'll scroll on down, and we'll click the next button. We need to name the connection. So, call this S71200, and we'll scroll down a little bit more. Under connectivity, take a look at the host name. And I'm just going to paste in the IP address of my device. Now technically that's all we have to do, I do want to point out though, so I'll scroll down a little bit more, we do have some advanced properties, I'm going to leave these as the default settings, but if you wanted to, or needed to change the port or the PDU size, anything like that, these properties do exist here. Again, I'm not making any changes, so I'll just click the create new device button down below. The status will start off as disconnected, but in just a moment, changes to connected. And that's it, we're connected. The next step is to create some tags, but we'll take a look at how to do that in a later video.
